EMS specializes in working with service providers and organizations that serve communities of color. All services center conversations of race, trauma, cultural privilege, and oppression.

CLINICAL SUPERVISION

I provide both individual and group supervision to people pursuing their license in Social work (interns and ACSW’s) and Marriage Family Therapy (trainees and associates). I subscribe to the utilization of eclectic theoretical orientations with culturally responsive, social justice oriented, and trauma informed practices at the core of my work. My approach also centers the importance of exploring countertransference and the potential ways that it impacts the therapeutic process.

TRAININGS & WORKSHOPS

Utilizing an ecological theoretical perspective, all trainings are experiential and transformational at their core and incorporate a trauma informed and culturally responsive lens. All workshops are customized to meet the needs of the audience. New workshops can also be created to meet your needs.

FACILITATION

Group facilitation is offered to support organizations in engaging in courageous conversations around particular areas of challenge (typically those that have a cultural underpinnings). Having an outside person hold this sort of space for your team, can be a very powerful way to begin to facilitate healing and harmony. This service is available on a one time or ongoing basis depending on the needs of the organization.

In addition, in collaboration with your organization, I help to design and facilitate staff retreats. Most retreats focus on team building and empowerment but are always customized to meet your needs.

LEADERSHIP COACHING

Individual coaching support is provided to supervisors, managers, and executive team members. The goal of coaching support is to help create more culturally responsive and trauma informed leaders within organizational contexts. With the many demands that leaders face, even with the best of intentions, it can be easy to not take a culturally responsive approach when making decisions. Coaching support provides space for leaders to not only learn and grow but to also unpack the many ways in which their own racial socialization influences their leadership style. Coaching sessions create a learning space for leaders and utilize a combination of reflective and directive styles to help leaders grow into their full potential.

Depending on the needs of the individual, coaching support may be offered in racial affinity to provide space for a deeper level of reflection to occur.

CONSULTATION

PROVIDED ON THE INDIVIDUAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL LEVEL.
Consultation sessions incorporate a culturally responsive, trauma informed, and transformational lens.

Individual Consultation:

Individual consultation is offered to support people, often those in the helping professions, who are working in cross cultural capacities. Consultations focus on helping the individual work through specific problems or dilemmas.

Organizational Consultation:

Organizational consultation and support offered to help organizations achieve Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. An organizational development philosophy is utilized to help guide the organization in creating systems of care that are aimed to improve quality of services.
